Therapeutic phlebotomy ferritin calculator

This ferritin calculator can help you get a rough idea of how many phlebotomies you may need given a certain ferritin level.

Assumptions

This calculator assumes that you lose about 10% of your total blood in a 500ml phlebotomy, and need to 'spend' 30 ferritin to reconstitute that blood. These are common rule-of-thumb measures used by the community.

This calculator is just an estimate. It isn't a replacement for actual lab results or for a doctor's opinion. Consult with your doctor as recommended during treatment.

It might not work when...

"How often should I draw?"

This tool can help you figure out how many phlebotomies you could need, which impacts this decision, but how fast to phlebotomize is best left to you and your doctor.
